For admissions and visa processes, we may collect passport details, academic transcripts, diplomas, language certificates, recommendation letters, and other documents you upload to the platform.

We also collect application-related data such as your preferred universities, programs, scholarship choices, essay responses, and communication history with our support team.

When you use Sallam.ma, we automatically collect technical and usage data including IP address, browser type, device information, pages visited, and session activity to keep the platform secure and improve our services.

We use your information to help you explore, prepare, and submit applications to universities and scholarship programs in China and related destinations.

Your data enables us to provide personalized guidance, track application progress, coordinate with partner institutions, and assist with visa-related documentation where applicable.

We use contact details to send service updates, respond to support requests, share relevant educational opportunities, and communicate important deadlines or status changes.

Usage and technical data help us maintain platform security, diagnose issues, improve features, and understand how students interact with our tools so we can serve you better.

Our processing of personal data is governed by Moroccan Law No. 09-08 on the protection of individuals with regard to the processing of personal data, as well as applicable international data protection principles.

We process your data based on your explicit consent when you create an account, submit documents, or opt in to communications. You may withdraw consent at any time, subject to legal or contractual obligations that require continued retention.

In some cases, we process data because it is necessary to perform our services, comply with legal obligations, or protect the legitimate interests of you, Sallam.ma, or our partners—always balanced against your privacy rights.

By using Sallam.ma and submitting personal information, you confirm that the data you provide is accurate and that you have the right to share any documents uploaded on behalf of yourself or, where applicable, with proper authorization.

We share your application data with universities, scholarship providers, and partner institutions you select or authorize us to contact on your behalf. Sharing is limited to what is necessary to process your candidacy.

When visa support is involved, we may share relevant information with authorized visa agencies, embassies, or government authorities as required by the application process you pursue.

We use trusted subprocessors to operate our platform, including Supabase for database hosting, authentication, and file storage. These providers process data on our instructions and under contractual data protection obligations.

We do not sell your personal data. We may disclose information when required by law, to protect our rights or users' safety, or in connection with a merger or acquisition, with appropriate safeguards applied.

We retain your personal data for as long as your account is active and your application journey is ongoing, so we can provide continuous support and maintain accurate records.

After your application is completed, withdrawn, or your account is closed, we retain relevant records for a default period of five (5) years unless a longer period is required by law, university requirements, or an active dispute.

Documents and communications may be deleted earlier upon your verified request, except where retention is necessary for legal compliance, fraud prevention, or enforcement of our terms.

Anonymized or aggregated data that cannot identify you may be retained indefinitely for analytics and service improvement purposes.

You have the right to access the personal data we hold about you and to receive a copy in a commonly used format, subject to identity verification.

You may request correction of inaccurate or incomplete information, and we will update your records promptly where verification allows.

You may request deletion of your data where no overriding legal or contractual basis requires us to retain it. Some information may need to remain archived for compliance purposes.

You may withdraw consent for optional processing such as marketing communications at any time. Withdrawal does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before withdrawal.

Sallam.ma is operated by a company registered in China while primarily serving Moroccan students. Your data may therefore be transferred between Morocco, China, and other countries where our service providers operate.

When data leaves Morocco, we apply appropriate safeguards such as contractual protections, encryption in transit, and access controls to ensure your information remains protected to standards consistent with Law 09-08.

Our infrastructure provider Supabase may store and process data in data centers located outside your country of residence. We select providers that maintain recognized security certifications and data processing agreements.

By using Sallam.ma, you acknowledge that cross-border transfers are necessary to deliver our services and that we take reasonable steps to protect your data throughout these transfers.

All connections to Sallam.ma are encrypted using HTTPS (TLS) to protect data in transit between your device and our servers.

Sensitive data stored in our database and file storage is encrypted at rest, and access is restricted to authorized personnel and systems on a need-to-know basis.

We implement role-based access controls, authentication safeguards, and Row Level Security (RLS) policies in our database to ensure users can only access their own data and authorized shared records.

While we apply industry-standard security practices, no system is completely immune to risk. We encourage you to use a strong password, keep your credentials confidential, and report suspected unauthorized access promptly.

We aim to respond to privacy requests within thirty (30) days. Complex requests may require additional time, and we will inform you if an extension is needed.
